New outlets have to go on a circuit with capacity to carry them, which is why “just add a couple more” is sometimes a fifteen minute job and sometimes a new circuit.
High-draw appliances need dedicated circuits: air conditioning, ovens, induction cooktops, EV charging and pool equipment should not be sharing with general power.

1. Can you add extra power points to my home?
Yes. Adding power points is one of our most common jobs – whether you need outlets in a new kitchen, home office, outdoor area, garage or bedroom.
We’ll advise the best positions, install them to standard on a suitable circuit, and check the circuit can handle the extra load. It’s a quick, affordable upgrade that removes the need for messy, unsafe power-board daisy-chaining.
2. How much does it cost to install or replace a power point?
The cost depends on how many outlets you need, their location, and whether new wiring is required to reach them. Simple replacements are inexpensive; adding outlets in new positions costs more due to cabling.

3. Should I replace old or discoloured power points?
Yes. Cracked, discoloured, warm or loose power points are warning signs – discolouration often indicates heat from a loose connection, which is a fire risk.
Old outlets also lack the safety features of modern ones. Replacing them is quick and inexpensive, and it noticeably improves safety and appearance. If an outlet is warm, sparks, or feels loose, have it replaced promptly.
4. Can you install USB power points?
Yes. USB power points combine a normal outlet with built-in USB charging ports, so you can charge phones and tablets without adapters or losing a socket.

5. Why is my power point warm or making a noise?
A warm, buzzing or crackling power point signals a loose or deteriorating connection, which generates heat and can start a fire.
Stop using it, switch off the circuit if you safely can, and call a licensed electrician promptly. This isn’t a wait-and-see issue. We can inspect and replace the faulty outlet quickly, and check nearby outlets on the same circuit.
